FAQs on RFP for IT MSP

  • How many servers are in place?
    • VM hyper visor & 2 virtual servers.
  • Is there a network diagram?
    • No. Each site operates independently.

  • How will assistance be requested?
    • There will be a point of contact for requests requiring approval & any escalation needed. Otherwise, users will make requests per MSP procedure.

  • Will onsite support be needed?
    • It will be needed on occasion, but not routinely.

  • How many wireless access points are there?
    • 9 Ubiquiti AC Pro WAPs.

  • How many firewalls?
    • 7 Meraki (6 MX68W, 1 MX67W).

  • How many smart switches are utilized?
    • 3 Ubiquiti Pro 48(2)/24(1) in the main office.

  • Is there an Active Directory?
    • The main office has an Active Directory. All other locations are set up in a workgroup. EntralD is used for MS 365 authentication but separate from the network.

  • Where are computers used?
    • We have 21 employees using desktops, laptops, and tablets. Some employees can log-in remotely. Additionally, we have community centers and classrooms with computers that our residents can use. Due to renovations, not all are in use at this time and some may be obsolete.

  • Is software provided by your current IT vendor?
    • Yes.

  • What brand of computers are used primarily?
    • Lenovo.

  • Is equipment (computers, servers, peripherals) owned by BHA?
    • Yes.

  • Is the VoIP phone system in place?
    • Yes, and it is maintained by a separate vendor from IT.

  • What software is used and what services are provided by the current vendor?
    • We want the new MSP to propose their recommendations and provide solutions that they feel will benefit BHA.
