After School and Summer Enrichment Program

We offer a safe environment and supervised activities, which include homework assistance, remedial tutoring, outdoor play, mentoring, educational and cultural field trips for the children in the communities we serve.

  • After School Enrichment operates Monday-Thursday from 2:30 pm-5:30 pm
  • Summer Enrichment operates Monday-Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Whiz Kids:  K- 5th grades

Whiz Kids seeks to promote academic growth as well as provide a safe and fun environment for students to learn from strong role models.

Training for Manhood: 6th- 12th grades

The mission statement for TFM states, “We are young males of the global majority unifying to become educated leaders and global citizens.” The vision statement for TFM states “As scholarly young men in an urban community, we are working to prepare for our future in a positive environment, while providing a supportive and uplifting atmosphere.”These young men will explore life inside and outside of Burlington with environmental exposure, service learning projects and molding themselves in the young men of the future!

Partnerships

BHA partners with Elon University through the Kernodle Center for Service Learning and the Leaders In Collaborative Service (LINCS) program. We work with student volunteers ranging from academic service learning courses, work study students, and other student organizations.
