The Burlington Housing Authority is looking for a skilled and motivated Facilities Manager to lead maintenance operations and ensure our communities remain safe, functional, and well cared for.
In this key leadership role, you'll oversee everything from daily maintenance operations to long-term capital improvements-playing a vital part in preserving the quality and performance of our housing portfolio.
What You'll Be Responsible For:
- Leading and supporting a team of maintenance professionals
- Overseeing preventive maintenance programs and capital improvement projects
- Ensuring properties meet HUD standards, safety requirements, and inspection expectations
- Managing budgets, tracking expenses, and maintaining inventory
- Utilizing systems and technology to track work orders, monitor performance, and improve efficiency
- Coordinating with contractors and vendors to deliver high-quality work
- Conducting inspections and proactively addressing maintenance needs
- Keeping operations organized, efficient, and responsive
What Sets You Apart:
- Strong experience in facilities, maintenance, or construction management
- Ability to lead teams, prioritize work, and keep projects moving forward
- Solid understanding of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.)
- A proactive mindset with a focus on quality, efficiency, and problem-solving
- Confidence working independently while collaborating across teams
- Comfort using technology, systems, and data to manage operations and drive efficiency
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Willingness to take a hands-on, proactive approach as needed
- Demonstrated success working with diverse populations, including underserved and low-income communities
